Ok, I have fished at Forbes lake over and over again. I just need to know? Where are the fish? I think Forbes is fished out. Their are all kinds of fishing derbys every year at the lake, I say there are too many if you ask me. This lake really is fished out. I just want to know, where are the fish in this lake? Where is the best spot to fish? Any help would be great news for me...Thanks Steve

I have fished Forbes a lot as well and it took years to find the fish. I am a strong believer in the lake and I have personally found fish in all the spots indicated on the map on this link.

Another one for crappie that I have not put up yet is the peninsula just off the dam. That entire side is full of crappie. I catch a ton using jog/minnow rig.
I got sick of bass fishing here too because of all the tournaments but I found fishing for bass around the dam area (where fish are released) is actually good. Last year, my first bass was a 6 pounder in a cove near the dam area. After that I caught several more "keepers" in the area mostly on soft plastics and jigs. I am not a fan of jig fishing but unfortunately it is one of the best ways to target bass here in IL.
well, it looks like me and a buddy are going to fish at a tour..coming at forbes in may. Its going to be interesting! I havent fished at forbes really that much lately.. Any help to find the biggest fish would be great>> so anyone out there wants to let me know where the big bass are in the lake. Let me know!!! I will let you all know and I will send pictures of us with our big fish???
